What is Safeguard?

Safeguard is a program developed by the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division “SLED”, the Safeguard program is designed to provide expert training and resources to import the quality of security services throughout the state of South Carolina. In order to receive your unarmed security guard card you must complete the Primary Basic and Primary Plus course. If you wish to have your armed guard card you must complete the Primary Basic, Primary Plus, and Firearms Training Courses.

About this course.

This online course will be approximately  8 hours and will end with taking two online tests. Once the course is completed and passed you will then receive the documentation to apply for your SLED unarmed guard card. If you need to have your armed guard card you will then have to register for the firearms portion which is a separate course and requires in person firearms training.

Within the course you will learn about various topics including but not limited to Situational Awareness, Ethics, Crime Scene Preservation, Patrol Procedures, Arrests, Probable Cause, and much much more.
